Clare Island has an active and vibrant community that hosts a number of festivals throughout the year, including the well-known Clare Island Film Festival. This year’s festival will take place from Friday, 11 September, to Sunday, 13 September 2026, at the Clare Island Community Centre.

More than 31 short films will compete over two days across three categories: Live Action, Documentary, and Animation.

The festival will open on Friday evening with the short film Handmade Future, while Rose of Nevada will be screened as the feature film on Saturday night.
