Fleadh Cheoil Sligo 2015

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is coming to Sligo from Sunday 9th August to Sunday 16th August 2015.
Translated, its name means The Music Festival of Ireland and that is exactly what it is. The Fleadh, as it is usually called, is the largest single festival of Irish Music in Ireland and it is a celebration of music, song and culture.
Throughout the week classes will be held for people of all ages and abilities in traditional Irish music.
There will be walking and historical tours; visitors will enjoy films, seminars, street performances and markets and spend the night into pubs where sessions will be performed.
The Fleadh is also a competition for amateur musicians.
The heart of the festival is the enjoyment of music, many international and national famed musicians and bands will perform throughout the week such as Oisín Mac Diarmada, Brian Fitzgerald Michael Rooney, Zoe Conway, John McIntyre ,Liam O’Flynn, Paddy Glackin, Seamie O’Dowd, Charles O’Connor, Padraig McGovern and Gerry O’Beirne.
