The National Museum of Country Life is hosting some events for the 2024 Halloween Season.

Make Your Own Halloween Mask Workshop

The workshop will take place on Saturday, October 26th, and Sunday, October 27th, in the Courtyard Education Room. Visual artist Carmel Balfe will guide the participants in creating their unique, spooky masks.

Children aged +5 and their families will be able to unleash their creativity and be inspired by the images of traditional Halloween masks from the Irish Folklife Collection of the National Museum of Ireland.

Halloween Storytelling

Storyteller Fiona Dowling will wait for all families and children aged +5 in the Museum Gallery on Sunday, 27th October, and Monday, 28th October.

The art of storytelling is intertwined with the Halloween traditions and customs.

Some spooky tales will come alive through Fiona’s interactive performance.

Scarecrow Jack Hunt

A spooky scarecrow trail will be set up on the Museum grounds from Saturday, October 26th, to Sunday, November 3rd.

Scarecrows of Jack-o'-Lantern will be hidden in the woods. Families will pick up their map and go on a scary adventure in the woods to find Stingy Jack!

Participants will enter a free draw for a spooktacular Halloween hamper.

Scary Objects Activity Trail

Scary Objects Hunt is an activity that caters for all families.

Across the three Museum floors, children aged three to ten will discover scary and eerie artefacts in the exhibitions and learn about all Halloween traditions.

Participants will enter a free draw for a spooktacular Halloween hamper.
