Halloween at the Museum 2025

The National Museum of Country Life is hosting some really scaring events for the 2025 Halloween Season.
Scarecrow Jack’s Halloween Trail
This family friendly event will take place from Saturday 25th October to Sunday 2nd November during Museum opening hours.
The spine-chilling scarecrow trail will be set up through the garden and woodland of Turlough Park.
Scarecrows of Jack-o'-Lantern will be hidden in the woods. Families will pick up their map and go on a scary adventure in the woods to find Stingy Jack!
Participants will enter a free draw for a spooktacular Halloween hamper.
Scary Objects Halloween Trail
Scary Objects Halloween Trail will take place on Saturday 25th October and Sunday 2nd November.
It is an activity that caters for all families.
Across the three Museum floors, children aged three to ten will discover scary and eerie artefacts in the exhibitions and learn about all Halloween traditions visiting the Samhain display.
Participants will enter a free draw for a spooktacular Halloween hamper.
Halloween Crafts at the Museum
This spooky workshop will take place from Wednesday 29th October to Friday 31st October from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
Visual artists and crafters Isolde Dingerkus, Carmel Balfe and Lindsay McConnell will guide children aged +5 and their families in creating their unique, spooky masks inspired by the images of traditional Halloween masks from the Irish Folklife Collection of the National Museum of Ireland.
