The 2019 International Observe the Moon Night is taking place on Sunday 6th October in the Wild Nephin Ballycroy National Park from 8pm to 11pm.

The event is an evening of moon gazing and storytelling under Mayo’s magical moonlight in collaboration with Terra Firma Ireland and Mayo Dark Skies.

International Observe the Moon Night is a worldwide celebration of lunar science and exploration held annually since 2010. On this day everyone is invited to observe and learn about the Moon and to celebrate the cultural and personal connections we all have with our satellite.

Also, International Observe the Moon Night falls within Space Week, the largest international space event in the world, taking place from 4th to 10th October.
