Mayo Mud Run will take place on Saturday 26th March 2016 in Moygownagh, Ballina. This event, the first of its kind in the West of Ireland, started in 2013 and last year attracted over 1500 participants. It isn’t only a fun activity, but also a serious challenge for all fitness levels.

The 8.5 km run starts on the road but quickly reaches the countryside and the forest where the mud is the common denominator. Participants run, jog, walk, crawl and jump through fields, water and drains enjoying a dirty fun day out. The run includes many natural obstacles set in the natural rugged terrain of Moygownagh. Volunteers help on site providing first-aid and refreshments for all competitors.

This event is organised through Moygownagh GAA in order to raise funds for the local Community Centre providing community services for the whole parish of Moygownagh and its hinterlands.

A great day out for all!
