The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series will return to Ireland in September after kick-off in France earlier in the summer.

The event will take place in County Mayo at the stunning setting of Downpatrick Head on Sunday 12th September 2021.

The series comes to the West after three stops at Inis Mór and 2019 showing in Dún Laoighre.

The divers (12 men and 12 women) will leap from the breathtaking cliff’s heights of up to 27m and at speeds over 85km/h, with no protection but for their concentration, skill and physical control, before meeting the wild Atlantic below.

Downpatrick Head is one of two Signature Points on the Wild Atlantic Way,  and it commands breathtaking views on the Atlantic, the Staggs of Broadhaven to the West, the stunning high cliffs to the East and the nearby Dun Briste (Broken Fort) sea stack.

The 24 cliff divers will leave their mark on the history of this breathtaking spot.
