July 2021

The 2021 Croagh Patrick National Pilgrimage will go ahead this year and take place from Wednesday 1st July to Saturday 31st July.

It is a new format and, for this year only, the Reek Pilgrimage is to be extended to four days per week for July.

Also, for the first time in the history of the pilgrimage , the indulgence for the pilgrimage extends throughout the summer months up to the end of September.

On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays the Sacrament of Confession will be available on the summit at 11am and Mass will be celebrated at 12pm.

On Saturday Mass will be celebrated at 10am and Confessions at 11am.

The Masses will be limited to the numbers permitted for outdoor gatherings following the current guidelines.

Each days pilgrimage is weather dependent and may have to change at short notice.

Pilgrims are asked to follow all Covid-19 guidelines and precautions on the ground and on the mountain too.

Also, pilgrims must be prepared and remember this is a very challenging ascent, they must be properly dressed, have proper footwear and walking sticks and bring snacks and drinks.

They must be responsible for themselves and other people and remind the ascent is a climbing of the Holy Mountain too.
