The 2022 Scoil Acla Summer School will take place from Monday 25th July to Saturday 30th July on Achill Island.

It was founded in 1910 for the preservation and promotion of the Irish language and traditional Irish music and revived in 1985.

The extensive range of traditional music classes available at Scoil Acla includes accordion, banjo, bodhrán, concertina, flute, fiddle, harp, tin whistle, uilleann pipes and bagpipes workshop, guitar accompaniment and piano accompaniment for all levels.

Many sessions will be held around Achill Island throughout the week.

There will be workshops in Traditional Irish Dance, Sean-Nós singing, classes in Irish Language (Achill dialect) and Arts Courses such as Quilting and the Traditional Basket Weaving, one of the most popular courses at Scoil Acla Summer School.

On Monday 25th July Sean Keane and his band will be alive for a night of dance and singing.

On Friday 29th July there will be the Tutors Concert.
