The 2026 Wild Atlantic Words literaly festival will take place from Monday 5th October to Sunday 11th October at the Festival Dome Castlebar.

Founded in 2016; it celebrates the literary heritage of the rugged coastline through readings, recitals, debates and reflections. Short stories inspired and connected with the Atlantic Coast will help to better understand the literally tradition of this corner of Ireland

This year special guests are: Mark Mellet, Mark Little, Liz Nugent, Coli Barrett, Edwin McGreal, Anthony Hennigan, Màirtin Ò Maicin, Chris and Lynda Huxley, Ken Armstrong, Darina Molloy, Maura Connolly, Gerard Moran, LIam Egan and many more.

Feature events for 2026 include: Wild Atlantic Quiz, Immagination Lab, A Poem and A Pint and the Book Fair.
