The Bard Summer School and Festival will take place on Clare Island from Wednesday 6th July to Saturday 10th July 2016.

It attracts participants from all over the world. The School explores all Irish myths handed down through Ireland's oral tradition.

The Bard Festival hosts evening entertainment such as the annual Islander’s Night, where participants experience local music, poetry song and dance performed by the people of Clare Island.

Children with their families are welcome. Parallel to the Bard Summer School is The Children’s Bard, a special school catered for kids including art, weaving, sport, music, dancing and storytelling.

This year participants will be able to complete the contemplative walk of The Chartres Labyrinth.

The event concludes with the annual Bard Féasta, a Celtic feast.
