The 2024 Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival will run from Friday, 7th June, to Sunday, 9th June.

The festival is now widely regarded as the leading bluegrass event on the Island.

There will be performers from different states of the US, Ireland and UK including: Rhiannon Giddens and Dirk Powell, US, Dirk and Amelia Powell,US, Chris Luquette & Rick Faris, Martha Spencer & The Wonderland Coountry Band, US, The Wayfarers, US, Remedy Tree, US, Pauline Scanlon, Ireland, Zoe & Cloyd ,US, ETSU Bluegrass Band (all members are University Students), US, Late For The Train, US, Hackney Hill Pickers ,UK, The Folly Brothers, UK, Big Chimney Barn Dance ,US, Tom Nechville & Linda Leavitt, US, Freda Hatton, Julie Langan, Declan Askin featuring Brendan Butler, Ireland, Tim Rogers, Ireland and The Rocky Top String Band, Ireland.

The programme will include concerts, pub gigs, sessions, and workshops in various venues, such as hotels and pubs, the Westport Town Hall Theatre, and the Holy Trinity Church.

In 2023, the festival launched a new project for future collaboration between the festival, the University of Limerick, the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, East Tennessee State University, The Home of Bluegrass, and the Old Time and Roots Music Studies of Higher Education and The Centre of Popular music at Middle Tennessee State University
