Located at Cloonacastle, 4km from Ballinrobe on the Claremorris road, Ballinrobe Golf Club is reputed to have one of the finest parkland courses in the west of Ireland. Within 45 mins drive from both Ireland West Airport Knock and Galway Airport, Ballinrobe golf course is very popular with locals and visitors alike.

Cloonacastle Estate

The clubhouse is in a fully restored 250 year old estate house on a 300 acre site on the Cloonacastle Estate, where many of the original buildings have been carefully renovated to provide modern golf clubhouse facilities since Ballinrobe golf club moved onto the grounds in 1995.

Ballinrobe golf course was laid out and designed by the late Eddie Hackett, the well known golf architect. A challenging course for any golfer with its mature trees, lush fairways, man-made lakes and traditional stone walls. This golf course has been played by many of the world's famous golfers, including Ireland's own golfing legend Padraig Harrington.

The beautiful medieval surroundings lend greatly to the charm of Ballinrobe golf course, with a 13th century tower house overlooking the 9th fairway and an old lime kiln beside the 18th tee. It is renowned for its sweeping greens which are 90% sand based.
