East Mayo Angler's Association

The River Moy is internationally famous for its excellent salmon fishing, and attracts anglers from all over the globe. The East Mayo Anglers Association has over eight miles of prime fishing water. EMAA water starts up river at Oldcastle, Meelick, Swinford and runs down river to the boundary with the Cloongee Fishery, outside Foxford.

This stretch of water offers a variety of fishing including spinning,worming and fly-fishing on the systems finest fly fishing runs and natural holding pools. Development work carried out by the Fishery Boards on this stretch has now been completed and has substantially improved the quality of fishing.

The salmon season runs from February to the end of September. Daily or weekly permits are available at a modest fee and may be obtained from the club's offices at Market Street Centre in Swinford. For further information, postal enquiries can be sent to:
