Family Fun Cycle 

What a great day on 13th June on the Family Fun Cycle as part of Bike week in conjunction with Mayo Sport Partnership.

A massive thank you to Killala Bike Hire for sponsoring the event. We would also like to thank Rosaleen and Louise for helping out as always.

We hope to have a few more Family Fun spins in preparation for the big one on the 2 nd August at the Giro de Baile.

Ballycastle golf society members would like to say a big thank you to Seamus Reddington who, through his employer Archers and contacts, sponsored some of the prizes on the day and anyone else who sponsored prizes.

Also, a big thanks to David Alexander for a great weekend.

Next outing is to a new course on our calendar - Swinford Golf Club on 27th June. 1st tee is at 10.30 please be there for 10am.  

Congratulations

Congratulations to Dermot Kelly who won the 100m sprint in the Connaught Athletics finals at the weekend, and also won second in the javelin.

Deaths

The death occurred on Thursday 11th of

  • Anthony Barrett, Main Street , Ballycastle. Sympathy is extended to his mother Cauleen, his sons Conán and Conor, sisters Kathryn and Kellie, brothers Liam, Richard, Padraig, Ollie, his extended family, relatives and friends.

May he rest in peace.   The death occurred on Friday 12th of

  • Eileen Heffernan (nee Noone) Glenurla, Ballycastle. Sympathy is extended to her daughters Carmel , Irene and Jacqueline, sons Martin, J.P. and Liam, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.  

The death occurred on Friday 12th of

  • Michael Bell, Aughoose and Suífinn Way , Ballycastle. Sympathy is extended to his brother Padraig, sisters Elizabeth, Agnes and Nuala, relatives and friends.
  • May he rest in peace.   The death occurred recently of

  • Ann McKeon. Sympathy is extended to her sister Angela Tomas (Belderrig), her family, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Coastal Challenge

Ballycastle 10k and 6k Road Race, Walk and Fun Run on Saturday 27th June at 2.00p.m. Chip timing. Cash prizes, Medals for competing and cash prizes for winners.

Art Gallery

Art Gallery, featuring paintings by local artists, upstairs in the Resource Centre. Open Monday – Friday 10.00a.m. – 5.00p.m. (Closed for lunch 1.00 – 2.00p.m).

O-55's Club

Over 55's exercise club meet in Suífinn Way Centre on Tuesdays at 11.30a.m.

 

Book Club

Book Club meet the last Thursday of every month at 9.00p.m. Contact Mary at 086-8095536.

 

Craft Shop

Craft Shop is located in the Resource Centre, Upper Main Street stocking goods by local craftworkers e.g. knitwear, crochet, handmade cards, wooden bowls, cushions, cot quilts, etc.

Ballycastle souvenir items e.g. candles, fridge magnets, keyrings, bookmarks, biros, teabag holders, St. Brigid's crosses, Mayo Crystal and a range of other items.   Other Facilities available : Tourist Information, Photocopying, Laminating, Typing.   Opening Hours: Monday – Friday 10.00a.m. – 5.00p.m. (closed for lunch 1 – 2.00p.m.)

Community Hall

Monday : Bingo at 8.30p.m.

Tuesday: Basketball 5.30p.m. – 6.30p.m. for children aged 8 – 10years and from 6.30 – 7.30p.m. for ages 12 – 14years. Ladies basketball at 8.00p.m.

Thursday: Men & Ladies basketball at 8.00p.m.

  3. Start CPR immediately while awaiting responder and emergency
