Wednesday next is Ash Wednesday. What are your plans for this Lent? May I suggest the following

  1. Attend Mass every day. There will be two at 7am every week. The evening masses will be at 8pm for the season of Lent.

    1. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Saturday evening from 6.45pm – 7.45pm. Please make a special effort to spend some time in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament during Lent.

    2. Take up the Family Rosary. Rosary 7.35pm – Saturday, before vigil Mass.

    3. Stations of the Cross.

    4. Your Trocaire Box has arrived. Place it in a visible location, donate and remember the poor in the Third World.

Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time

  • Sat 6.45pm – Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. 7.35pm –Rosary. All Welcome. Please come along and pray for the intentions of our Parish.

  • Sat 8pm – Jim, Teresa Cafferkey & John (Doona).

  • Sun 11am – Mamie (Mary) Cafferkey (2nd Anni) Michael & Danny (Aughness).

  • Tues 10am – Nora Masterson, Anthony (Lettra) & Teresa.

Ash Wednesday – A day of Fast & Abstinence. Ashes will be blessed & distributed at mass. All welcome.

  • Wed 1pm – Island Mass.

  • Wed 7pm – Ash Wednesday - Bangor

  • Wed 8pm – Ash Wednesday - People of the Parish.

  • Thurs 7am – Louis & Phyllis Cleary.

  • Fri 8pm – Dec’d McManamon & Cleary Families (Dooriel & Drumslide).

  • Sat 12 noon – Bangor.

  • Sat 2pm – Baptism – Baby Conor Conway.

Church Building Fund

The next draw will take place 22nd February. Please remember to return the Orange/Building Fund envelope. The Prizes for 2015

St. Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent de Paul are looking for New Volunteers. We are holding Induction Training in Bangor Erris Parish Hall on Sat 21st Feb, 10am – 4pm. Come along if you’re interested.

25 Card Game

Matthew and Sinead Carolan are holding a 25 Card Game (Partners) in aid of RPM Ireland on 20th February in Ballycroy Community centre at 9pm. €10 per person.

Door prize and raffle on the night. Refreshments will be served. Please support.

Rapid Prompting Method (RPM) is a teaching method that teaches autistic children to respond to the teacher not through speaking but by making 50/50 choices on paper. Gradually the child is taught how to point to letters on a letter board and then they can spell their answers.

RPM recognised that autism is not a lack of understanding but a difficulty in motor control and a lack of speech. Matthew’s four year old nephew Shane attends the ASD unit in Newport N.S.
