On the Pentecost weekend

On the Pentecost weekend, we have our diocesan-wide Adoration - 33 hours in memory of our Lord's years.

It's in Tuam: beginning after 10 a.m. Mass in the Cathedral on Saturday 23rd and ending on Sunday 24th with Mass at 7 p.m. The Adoration itself will be in St. Jarlath's chapel.

Everyone in the Archdiocese is welcome.

Tickets for L.A. Tea Party

Tickets will be on sale in Curam before and after both Masses next weekend and also in the Dalton Inn for the L.A. Tea Party which is taking place on Wed 27th May at 8pm in the Dalton Inn.

It is a fundraising event to help send the Beston Family to support Aoife who will be competing in the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles in July.

Why we should not re-define marriage

Talk on ‘Why we should not re-define marriage’ by Kate Bopp of Mothers and Fathers Matter and Fr. Shane Sullivan on Monday 18th May at 8pm in the Welcome Inn Hotel, Castlebar. All are welcome.

Poor Clare’s in Galway

The Poor Clare’s in Galway are hosting Monastic Experience Days on Saturday, 23rd of May and Saturday the 20th of June from 10am to 5pm.

The days are designed to help young women between the ages of 21 and 40 to find out more about the Poor Clare way of life.

The Róisín Tansey Trust Fund is organising a Tochar Phadraig 22 Mile Sponsored Walk from Ballintubber Abbey to Croagh Patrick (plus the Reek optional) on Sat. June 20th as a fundraiser for Róisín’s on-going physio in America.

Station mass

Station mass will be held in the home of Gerry McLoughlin, Carrareagh, on Tuesday 19th May at 12 noon.

Corpus Christi procession

Corpus Christi procession, this year it will take place after the 11am mass on Sunday 7th June.

The route will be the Church back avenue, on to the memorial stone on Station Road, where a wreath will be laid and prayers. Then finally onto The Square for the final prayer and blessing.

A Wake in the West

A Wake in the West - back by popular demand. The Claremorris Players present this hilarious comedy - A Wake in the West, in aid of Gaelscoil Uileog de Búrca on Friday 22nd May at 8.30 p.m. in the Townhall Theatre, Claremorris.

The Carers Association are providing the QQI (FETAC) Level 5 Palliative Care module on the 25th of June one day a week for five weeks in Claremorris, Co Mayo.

Claremorris Active Retirement

The winners of the Tom Whelan Cup were Tuam ARA. The Cup and individual trophies were presented to the winning team by Maisie Whelan. The Final of the Old Time Waltz Competition will be held at our dance May 18th, from 9.30 p.m. to midnight, with music provided by Patsy McCaul. All are welcome.

We are organising a Picnic by the Lake, in McMahon Park between 2.30 and 4.30 on Sunday 24th May, refreshments and music provided. All are welcome.

The annual 3 day trip on June 9th, 10th and 11th, to the Villa Rose Hotel in Ballybofey, Co. Donegal is fully booked.

Bowling is taking a break; play will be resumed on Tuesday 23rd June.

Aerobic Exercises are on Wednesday from 11am to 12 noon, and Aqua Aerobics Thursday 11.30 am to 12.15 pm, both in the Leisure Centre Claremorris.

Build your Self-Esteem

'Build your Self-Esteem' – commencing on June 2nd for 4 Tuesdays from 10:30 to 12:30.

The workshop which is designed to help participants identify their current level of self-esteem, understand how to improve upon that and eventually reach beyond their self-imposed limitations to achieve their goals.

 

Volunteers

Volunteers helping out in the Community in Claremorris: assist people, whom due to no transport, disability and living alone are unable to go to the local shops to do their shopping.
