Children’s Liturgy

Continues next Sunday 14th Dec @ 12noon Mass in Ballindine Church – bring your children aged 4 years and over along where they will explore the Gospel in their own language and present some artwork at the Altar during Mass. 

Please Note there will be No Children’s Liturgy on Sun 21st due to the Do this in Memory First Communion Mass.

Knock Advent Workshop

Knock Advent Workshop: The second Advent talk will take place on Tuesday December 9th at 8pm in St. John’s Rest & Care Centre.

It will be given by Cathal Kearney on the recent Synod on the Family in Rome.

This is a good opportunity to hear about the Synod, during this year of preparation for the final Synod in October 2015.

The Esker Annual Healing Mission will be held in Esker Church, Esker, Athenry Mon 8th – Fri 12th Dec. Daily 10am, 5pm, 7pm & 9pm. Everyone welcome.

Irishtown N.S

Irishtown N.S will stage its Christmas Concert in the Community Centre Irishtown on Friday December 12th commencing at 8pm sharp.  Admission - Voluntary donation. 

All proceeds go to the Rosin Tansey fund.  Please support.

Diocesan Youth Council

The Diocesan Youth Council (DYC) would like to invite all young people from across the diocese to join them for their annual Tóchar walk on Tuesday 30th December.

We will gather at Ballintubber Abbey at 10.45am and walk the first stage of the Tóchar to Aughagower.(approx 11 miles) Suitable clothing and footwear are essential as well as a packed lunch.

The Carers Association are providing QQI (FETAC) Level 5 Care of the older person training in Claremorris Family Resource Centre on Thurs 11th Dec.  one day a week for five weeks.

Mayo Cancer Support Association

Mayo Cancer Support Association Launches Book of Poetry  “The Courage to Carry On” a collection of positive poetry about cancer will be launched by Mayo footballer and all-star Aiden O’Shea in the Walnut Suite of the Plaza Hotel, Westport on Tuesday 9th December at 7pm. 

All Proceeds to Rock Rose House, Castlebar. Cheese & Wine reception. All are Welcome.

Youth 2000 Ireland

Youth 2000 Ireland will be hosting their annual Christmas Retreat in Newbridge College, Newbridge, Co. Kildare from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th December.

Over 500 young people from across Ireland (aged 16-35) are expected at this donation only event, with all newcomers very welcome.   This is a great opportunity to find out what your faith is all about in a friendly, chilled out atmosphere.

Claremorris PTAA 

Claremorris PTAA  bingo and raffle session in Curam on Thursday 11th December @ 8.30pm.

Davitts GAA

Davitts GAA: There was no winner of last week's jackpot. Numbers drawn were 10, 11, 22 & 31. Draw for a jackpot prize of €6,500 takes place Sunday 7th of December in Hanley's Claremorris.

Representatives from Davitts will call to houses in the parish with information on the Croke Park raffle fundraising initiative. 100% of monies raised going to the new Clubhouse development. See Davitts website and Facebook for prizes. This development will serve the entire community.

Davitts GAA Club are organising the second 5k in the series on Sunday Dec. 7th. All welcome.

Davitts Winter 5k Series

Walk Jog or run the Davitts Winter 5k Series. Sun Dec 7th & 14th at 10am. All 3 walk/runs start & finish in Irishtown Village. 

Limited to 150 participants the Series costs only €15 for the 3 events incl coffee and mince pies on the final Sunday.  Entry €8 per event. Children €5 per event.
