The total figure given to Trócaire from our parish this year is €8,400. 

This is a very generous contribution.  Many, many thanks on behalf of Trócaire and all in their care.

Poor Clares

The Poor Clares in Galway are hosting Monastic Experience Days on Saturday, 23rd of May and Saturday the 20th of June from 10am to 5pm.  The days are designed to help young women between the ages of 21 and 40 to find out more about the Poor Clare way of life.

Ballindine Tidy Towns

Ballindine Tidy Towns have entered Mayo Anti-Litter League running from April to September.  Any help to keep Ballindine litter free would be a great help and much appreciated.

Volunteer VAKS Programme

The Volunteer @ Knock Shrine (VAKS) programme will take place in Knock this Summer. The VAKS programme is for all over the age of 16 years old. It is an opportunity for you to come to Knock to volunteer for weekends over the Summer. This is a great way to meet new friends, serve others, express your faith and have fun. 

You must be registered to take part in this programme.  We are currently looking for leaders and volunteers for this programme. So if you would like to do something different this Summer please get in touch with us for an application form For more details please contact the Youth Ministry.

Age Action Ireland

Age Action Ireland organises beginner computer classes for the over 55’s. Participants will be taught in small groups by trained volunteer tutors.

Classes run in Claremorris Family Resource Centre and cost €20 for a four week course for two hours per week.

Carers Association

The Carers Association are providing QQI (FETAC) Level 5 Palliative Care module on 25th June one day a week for five weeks in Claremorris, Co Mayo.

Annual Garrafrauns 5Km Run/Walk

Annual Garrafrauns 5Km Run/Walk next Sunday 24th May in Garrafrauns Village. Registration from 11am. Walk 1pm, Run 1.30pm followed by Mini Mile Run for younger Children.

Family fun Day in School grounds with refreshments, children's area, novelty races and challenges such as Golf, Bike Balance, Welly Throwing, The Cube Games, Hoopla and more. 

A great day out for the family. Entry for 5km is €10 Adult, €5 under 18 and €20 Family. Includes medal and entry to Fun Day.

BALLINDINE/IRISHTOWN ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION (over 55's):  Next meeting will take place on Tuesday, 19 May, at 9.p.m. in Ballindine Community centre. 

There are a few vacant seats on the coach for the holiday in West Donegal/Tyrone (16-19 June).

Tochar for Róisín

The Róisín Tansey Trust Fund is organizing a Tochar Phadraig 22 Mile Sponsored Walk from Ballintubber Abbey to Croagh Patrick (plus the Reek optional) on Saturday June 20th as a fundraiser for Róisín’s ongoing physio in America.
