Family Graves

With Cemetery Masses & Prayer Services continuing in the coming weeks, family graves should be attended to for these special events in our parish.

If there is no one to attend a neighbouring grave, please help to keep these graves weed free in memory of all those who lie there.

Irishtown New Cemetery

Irishtown New Cemetery - Sincere thanks to all who contributed to the Cemetery Restoration fund collection at Irishtown New Cemetery on Saturday last. The collection amounted to €331.00. Clean up and works continues on Tuesday evenings at 7.00 p.m. You continued help and co-operations is much appreciated.

Kilvine Cemetery Clean- up will commence this Monday 28th July @ 7pm for Mass on Sat 2nd Aug. Please come along and help.

Anger Management

Anger Management: Knock Counselling Service, in conjunction with the Irish Association for Anger Management are running a 2 day Anger Management programme at Knock Shrine on Sat 6th & Sun 7th Sept 2014.

National Grandparents Pilgrimage

Knock Basilica on Sunday 14th September, commencing at 2.30pm with the anointing of the sick followed by Mass with Chief Celebrant Archbishop Charles Browne Apostolic Nuncio.

Guest singer: Fr. Liam Lawton and the choir of St. Joseph’s Secondary School Castlebar.

Children are asked to compose a special prayer for their grandparents and to post it to Catholic Grandparents Association, Castlebar St., Westport, Co,. Mayo.

All prayers will be blessed at this Mass.

Clár I.R.D. will host their Annual Fund Raising event ‘Clár I.R.D. Golf Classic’ 1st & 2nd of August at Claremorris Golf Club.

Clár I.R.D. is a voluntary organisation and all proceeds of the event will contribute towards the delivery of vital services for the elderly and those in need in South West Mayo.

Youth 2000 Summer Festival

Youth 2000 Summer Festival, Cistercian College, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary Thursday 14​​th – Sunday ​17​​th August.

For young people aged 16-35, an opportunity not to be missed to experience the Catholic faith and meet many new people. This Festival has been nicknamed the “Holy Oxygen” with over 1000 young people from all corners of Ireland attending last year.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Aine Gallagher, Skevard, Ballindine who sealed 1st place in the 12- hour women’s race at the Energia Belfast 24-Hour event, last weekend.

Aine was crowned the winner after completing 104.6k (65 miles); and set a new Irish 12 hour record.

Congratulations to Catriona McLoughlin, Skevard, Ballindine who achieved a personal best by winning a Gold and a Silver medal in Bocci at the Special Olympics in Limerick recently.

The whole community are delighted and proud of their achievements.
