Confirmation will be celebrated on Wednesday 25th February - 12noon in Ballindine Church.

Light Refreshments will be served  in Ballindine Community Centre immediately after the Ceremony.  All are welcome.

Trocaire

The focus on this year’s Lenten campaign is Climate Change and Climate Justice - how climate change affects people.   

Please support Trocaire’s work to empower people to adapt to climate change.

Trocaire invites you help tackle the injustice of climate change which affects the people who are doing the least to cause it, but are suffering the most because of it, whilst those with most power to address it have so far failed us.

Purple Crosses

There will be small purple crosses available for you at the church, on which to write your Lenten intentions, courtesy of the National School children.

Please place your crosses in the Box at the Altar.

Support Group for Parents and Carers

Knock Counselling Centre is hosting a support group for parents & carers of young people who are experiencing difficulties in life, on Thursday 12th February at 7pm; the evening will be facilitated by Peter Devers, Psychotherapist.

Children’s Liturgy

Children’s Liturgy each Sunday at 12noon Mass in Irishtown Church for children aged 4 years upwards. 

Bring your children along where they will explore the Gospel in their own language and present some artwork at the Altar during Mass.

Self Care to Wellness programme

If you are living with a long-term heath condition you may be interested in doing the “Self Care to Wellness programme”. This is a 6 week programme delivered in 2.5 hour weekly sessions where you will learn new skills to manage your health condition on a day to day basis.

Common Sense Parenting Course for Parents

Cúram Family Support is running a Common Sense Parenting Course for Parents of school aged children 6-16 years beginning on Wed 18th Feb for 6 weeks, one morning a week from 10 am to 12pm in Cúram Family Centre.

A Wake in the West’- in Aid of Western Alzheimer’s,  The Claremorris Players presents this hilarious comedy by M.J Ginnelly in aid of Western Alzheimer’s for 3 nights on the 20th,21st, 22nd of February at 8pm in Claremorris Town Hall.

Carers Association

The Carers Association are providing QQI (FETAC) Level 5 Care Support training in Claremorris on the 19th Feb.  This is one of the mandatory modules towards the Full Healthcare Award.

Mayo Roscommon Hospice is seeking participants to take part in the New York City marathon in November. This is an all in package deal and is well worth doing as a once in a lifetime event.

Foroige

Foroige is currently seeking adult volunteers, both male and female, to participate in the Big Brother Big Sister youth mentoring programme.

Volunteers are asked to give just 1 hour per week to the project which aims to build confidence, develop life skills and provide additional support to a young person aged 10-18 years. Tel: 086 3835859.
